Tom Reynolds – Mountain Biker, Orienteer, Doctor
I am a 27 year old originally from Waimauku, a small town just north of Auckland. I share my time between competitive sport and work as a junior doctor. I compete in a wide range of endurance sports across New Zealand and the World. For 2016 I am aiming to improve my level of competition in multisport. I am trying new races around the country and consolidating my training base. I am a competitive mountain runner, adventure racer and multisport athlete. Exploring the environment around me is something I love doing and I have a passion for advocating the importance of physical activity in day to day life.
I graduated from Auckland Medical School at the end of 2012 and I am now working as a Junior Doctor at Rotorua Hospital. I balance my work commitments as a doctor with training and racing. Medicine and competitive sport are dual priorities; I couldn’t do one without the other.
Keep an eye on this site for updates on my racing and training. I may even get to include interesting articles and stories related to my medical studies.
